A bit about G-Shock

The remarkable G-Shock story began in 1981, when Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe accidentally dropped and shattered a beloved mechanical watch his father had gifted him. Devastated but inspired, he formed "Project Team Tough" with a clear objective: to invent an unbreakable watch based on the "Triple 10" concept. This ambitious goal required the watch to survive a 10-metre drop, resist water up to 10 bar, and boast a 10-year battery life. After rigorously testing over 200 prototypes, sometimes by dropping them out of a third-floor window, Ibe created an innovative floating module structure and officially launched the first indestructible Casio G-Shock in 1983.
